Here I am going to discuss the easiest way to make a USB flash drive bootable so that you can install Win 7 and Win Vista from your USB Flash drive, For this you have to:-
1. A 4GB USB Flash drive.
2. Win 7 or Win Vista DVD as per your requirements. (Please use original software to avoid legal problems).
3. A PC With Win 7 or Win Vista installed.
Now insert your flash drive in the USB port of the PC. Open "My computer" find the flash drive. Right click on it and click "Format" > leave all option same and click "Start". Now click "Yes" wait for some time and you will see the "Format completed Successfully" Message.
Now Press "Windows logo key" and R at the same time. It will show Run dialogue box. Now type here "cmd".
Or you can go Start>All Programs>Accessories> Command Prompt
It will open a command prompt where you can type necessary commands. Now follow these steps:-
1. Type DISKPART
2. Now it will change to DISKPART> prompt.
3. Type here LIST DISK (It will show all Hard Disk and flash drive attached. Here Disk 1 is flash drive with 4 GB capacity.
4. Now type SELECT DISK 1 (It will select Disk 1, here my flash drive. Now all commands will effect on the selected drive).
5. Now type SELECT PARTITION 1
6. Type ACTIVE
Now type exit>exit.
Copy all files from your Win 7 Disk to your USB Flash drive. Your Flash drive is ready.
You have to select boot device through F12 and F9 or other Key combination to boot from USB Flash.
